Multi scales come with the sectional plotter. Multi-scale incorporates 1:500,000 readings to 60 nautical miles. The center scale converts between nautical miles and statute miles to 70 miles. In 1:1,000,000 readings to 174 nautical miles and to 320 kilometers. The edge of the scale is simply aligned with the desired track to obtain true or magnetic zero-wind headings and distances from the beacon or start point.

• Place a hole over the intersection of the true course north line.
• Without changing the hole position, rotate the plotter until the edge is over the true course line.
• From the hole follow the true north line to a curved scale with an arrow pointing in direction of flight.
• Read the true course in degrees, on a proper scale, over the true north line. Read scales counterclockwise
